Breastfeeding Medicine Consultation is a specialized medical service for mothers and babies with breastfeeding and infant feeding concerns. Unlike general lactation support, breastfeeding medicine includes medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of complex issues affecting feeding, maternal health, and infant growth. This may include problems such as nipple pain, low milk supply, recurrent plugged ducts or mastitis, infant weight gain concerns, oral function concerns, supplementation needs, pumping challenges, bottle refusal, and feeding difficulties linked to underlying maternal or infant medical conditions. At Blooming Families Clinic, consultations are provided through an evidence-based medical lens that considers both the baby and the mother. We do not only offer feeding guidance. We assess contributing clinical factors, diagnose underlying problems, and develop treatment plans that support breastfeeding goals while protecting the health of both mother and baby.
