**What is the Sign & Lighting Workforce Training Center?**

We are a first-of-its-kind, employer-connected sign and lighting workforce training program. Our mission is to prepare individuals for careers in the sign and lighting industry through a 16-week development pathway. This program includes safety certifications, hands-on training, and real-world externships with industry professionals. We are based in Lemon Grove, CA (San Diego County).

**How does your program differ from others in the industry?**

Our program is unique as there are no dedicated sign & lighting workforce training programs in the country. We focus on employer-connected design, ensuring our training aligns with day-one job readiness and externships to provide real field hours. Employment placement is built into our model and we have partnership with Brady’s Signs & Service along with a referral ecosystem embedded in recovery/reentry communities.

**What are the key offerings of the Sign & Lighting Workforce Training Center?**

We offer a comprehensive 16-week training program that includes safety and classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, and an employer externship placement. Graduates of our program leave with a tool bag and starter kit to support day-one employment readiness. We also offer partnership pathways for employer partners, referral partners, and funding sponsors.

**Who are your primary audiences?**

Our primary audiences are funders such as foundations, workforce grant makers, corporate givers, and individual donors interested in workforce development and reentry/recovery outcomes. We also engage with employer partners in the sign and lighting industry who need trained technicians and want a dependable hiring pipeline. Additionally, we work with community/referral partners serving justice-impacted individuals, people in recovery, veterans, and Native communities.

The Sign & Lighting Workforce Training Center (SLWTC) prepares motivated individuals ages 16–45 for careers as entry-level sign and lighting technicians. Our 16-week, in-person program combines classroom instruction, guided modules, and hands-on field training, ending with a four-week externship placement with industry host employers.
Students earn industry-recognized certifications including OSHA 10/30, CPR/First Aid, aerial and scissor lift operation, fall protection, and rigging and crane safety awareness — plus an SLWTC completion certificate.
We welcome veterans, individuals in recovery, justice-impacted individuals, Native American community members, and anyone facing barriers to traditional employment. No prior experience needed — just the drive to build a skilled-trade career.
