Laughter School Program
Laughter School Special is an improv theatre residency that uses ensemble-based learning and comedic play to support students’ social-emotional development, confidence, communication skills, and creative expression. Over 20 weeks, students work with teaching artists who have spent years training performers, developing curriculum, and leading ensemble-based programs across Chicago’s improv community. Together, students learn improv fundamentals, develop ensemble skills, and create an original performance for their school community. •Grades: 6–12 •Location: Onsite at your school •Duration: 20 weeks •Frequency: One after-school session per week •Session Length: Customizable from 1-hours to 3-hours •Schedule: Aligns with the school calendar •Culminating Event: Optional final performance (hosted at your school or at The Comedy Clubhouse in Chicago) •Discipline: Theatre / Improvisation •SEL Focus: Confidence, collaboration, empathy, communication
