Help ensure a survivor has secure, compassionate transportation to critical appointments, reducing barriers and making every next step safer. Next Mile is a Pittsburgh Social Impact LLC providing safe, trauma-informed transportation for women survivors of gender-based violence. Our drivers are women — many of them survivors themselves — trained through our proprietary six-module Safe Driver Certification before their first ride. Every Next Mile driver knows what it means to sit in the back seat where our riders sit. That knowledge is not incidental to our service. It is the service. Our vision is a Pittsburgh — and eventually a nation — where no survivor misses the appointment that could change her life because she had no safe way to get there.
