Griot & Grey Owl is a Black-led arts organization based in Durham, North Carolina, dedicated to celebrating and safeguarding the voices of Black Southern writers. We create spaces—both physical and digital—for storytelling to thrive through an annual writers conference, year-round workshops, a Black Southern book fair, and the Carolina Gold anthology and digital archive. By blending cultural preservation with professional development, we connect emerging and established writers to resources.
