Most Businesses Use Social Media To Engage Customers

According to our survey, the majority of business use their social media profiles to engage with their customers and post content. The more your followers engage (like, share, comment) with your posts, the more they will see them.

Most Businesses Post Multiple Times Per Week

From the data we collected, 26% of businesses post on social media daily and over 57% post several times a week. Generally, posting on social media once per day is recommended (more if you use twitter).

Of the businesses that participated in our survey, 52% of businesses receive at least 10% of their revenue from social media leads, with the largest group receiving 10-30% of their business from social media.

Most Businesses Receive Web Traffic From Social Media

Our survey indicated that 28% of businesses receive at least 30% of their website traffic from their social media pages. Yet 32% are unsure or have 0% website traffic from social media. There are many ways to measure traffic from social media. Google Analytics, the social media platforms themselves, and your website provider all break down the data.

5 Quick Tips To Get 10% More Customer

Gaining more customers all comes down to trust. People need to trust you and your business before they purchase from you. There are many strategies business can take, but here are a few quick tips to gain trust and get more customers.  

Post Consistently. Consistency is key when trying to gather more followers and convert them to customers. At minimum you should post 2-3 times per week, but aim for once per day. The more consistent you are, the more likely people will see and share your posts.

Use the 80/20 rule. 80% of the time you should post helpful and engaging content and actively sell your product or service only 20% of the time. Helpful and engaging content includes "how-to" articles, polls, and engaging questions. Remember that most people prefer images and videos to plain text, so be sure to include those too.

Respond To Your Followers. When your followers connect with you or engage with your content, it is important to respond back to them. Answering questions is vital to establishing good rapport, but even liking someone's comment can go a long way to building trust and to show your appreciation.

Encourage and Reward Your Top Fans. Top fan are your followers who engage with your content the most. You can encourage more of your followers to become top fans by offering specials or discounts that are only available to your top fans.

Cross-Promote With Other Businesses. Contact business owners in your area or in a related field. Offer to promote their posts if they promote yours. It's a great way to build a relationship and get your posts in front of another audience.

While many business find success with social media, our survey shows that 47% either are unsure or receive very little sales from social media. By posting consistent useful posts (80/20 rule), engaging followers, and networking with other businesses, social media can be used to increase your customers by 10%.
