What You’ll Need to Renew your Nevada Driver License

  • Proof of identity
  • Proof of Social Security Number
  • Proof of address (2 documents)

What You’ll Need to Do to Renew your Nevada Driver License Online

  1. Go to Nevada DMV license renewal website.
  2. Enter the required access code found on your renewal notice (Contact the NV DMV office directly if you did not receive a notice).
  3. Pay your NV driver's license renewal fee: 8 years: $42.25; Drivers 65 years old and older (4 years): $18.25.

What You’ll Need to Do to Renew your Nevada Driver License in Person

  1. Visit your nearest DMV office in person. Consider making a DMV appointment or getting a line waiting concierge.
  2. Submit the required documents and surrender your license.
  3. Pass a knowledge test and driving skills test, if you have been convicted of more than 3 moving violations, or received a suspension, cancellation, or revocation within the past 4 years.
  4. Pay the fees.

What You’ll Need to Do to Renew your Nevada Driver License by Mail

  1. If you're out of state, call  (775) 684-4830 or (877) 368-7828 to see if you're eligible to renew by mail. If eligible, you will need to send payment for your renewal fee.
  2. You can send a check, money order, or Credit/Debit Card Authorization (Form ADM-205). Do NOT send cash.
  3. Contact Nevada DMV office near you to submit the documents.
