Developed in partnership with founding sponsor FedEx, the Small Business Readiness for Resiliency (R4R) Program is a multi-year initiative led by the U.S. Chamber Foundation to help small business owners prepare for and recover from disasters. With support from Allstate, American Express, and Fiserv, the program provides planning tools, resources, and quick-turn relief grants of $5,000 to eligible small businesses impacted by disasters after a state emergency order or disaster declaration.
Here’s how it works:
- Download and complete the Emergency Preparedness Checklist for Small Businesses and create an Emergency Action Plan
- Have at least one physical or online business location within the United States or its territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Marianas, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa)
- Be located in a county that receives a state-declared State of Emergency order or disaster declaration
- Have been financially harmed by a disaster and incurred an uncovered loss
- Incur applicable disaster-related damages or losses equal to or exceeding $5,000
- This program will reach out to you if a disaster occurs in your area of business
