Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union has launched their Seventh Annual Idea Leap Grant competition in which the credit union will award a total of $225,000 in grants to local small business owners across its 17-county service area. Once again, TVFCU will host separate competitions in the Chattanooga, Ocoee and Northwest Georgia areas, awarding grants between $10,000 and $30,000 to entrepreneurs. Here's how it works:
- Must be located in the 17 counties covered by TVFCU. Tennessee: Bledsoe, Bradley, Grundy, Hamilton, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Polk, Rhea and Sequatchie Counties. Georgia: Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Gordon, Murray, Walker and Whitfield Counties
- Must be 18+ and not on the OFAC list, individuals with prior felony convictions may be eligible
- The business must be in good standing with the Tennessee/Georgia Secretary of State or the County Clerk’s office in their home county, as of the date of Submission and must remain so through the end of the Contest
- Business must have a minimum of 2 (including the owner) and a maximum of 25 employees on its payroll and annual revenue less than $2.5 million
- Must meet TVFCU Business Services membership criteria;
- Must not in any way be affiliated with a direct seller business;
- Must not under bankruptcy protection or have judicial liens or attachments;
- Apply by November 30, 2023
