### _$100k Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award_

 
The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award of the Cartier Women's Initiative is looking for businesses offering products or services designed to close gaps of access, outcome or opportunity for communities that have been underrepresented or underserved. Entrepreneurs across all sectors and geographies are encouraged to apply. Winners will win between $30-100k, receive a fellowship training program, and substantial media and social capital support. Here's how it works:
 

- Business should demonstrate that its main purpose is to work towards closing gaps of access, outcome or opportunity for underserved or underrepresented communities
- Must be a for-profit, early stage business (incorporated between June 2017 and June 2022) that has at least 1 year of revenue
- Business should not have raised more than US$2 million in dilutive funding as of the date of application
- Applicants must be one of the main leaders and 18 years or older
- Applicants must commit to participating in the fellowship program from January 2024 to December 2024 (2-4 hours/week virtually)

The investment is meant to help publishers at different phases of growth and will open the door to more money when applicants reach certain benchmarks. The News Startup Fund gives preference to minority founders in order to establish a more equitable media environment where everyone has access to historically informed, culturally relevant content.
