2025 Backing Historic Small Restaurants

Together with American Express, the National Trust for Historic Preservation is again launching the Backing Historic Small Restaurants Grant Program to help restaurants address critical needs amid ongoing economic challenges. They are giving out 50 $50k grants. Here's how it works:

• Must be a small/independently owned restaurant located in a historic or older building or neighborhood
• Must contribute to the history and/or identity of its surrounding community or neighborhood
• Must tell an inclusive story about cuisine and community in America (such as historic or ethnic food ways or culinary heritage)
• Must have a compelling and inspiring historical narrative or cultural significance
• Must have been disproportionately impacted by economic challenges, disasters, or other hardships
• Apply by May 30, 2025
