Our mission: Empowering entrepreneurs and small business owners
When Skip was founded in 2016 (formally known as YoGov), our mission was twofold: to make government services and information more accessible to everyone and to give back to the community in meaningful ways. Today, we're thrilled to share that we've not only assisted over 1 million people across the US in navigating government services but have also expanded our "Skip for Good" initiative to support entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey.
Introducing our enhanced "Skip for Good" initiative
Skip's commitment to giving back now takes a broader approach, focusing on empowering entrepreneurs. We've dedicated a substantial portion of our revenue to providing grants to entrepreneurs of all backgrounds—whether they're just starting out with a dream, looking to change careers to pursue a passion, or have been in business for decades. To date, Skip has awarded over $250,000 in grants to hundreds of entrepreneurs and small businesses across the US, reaffirming our commitment to fostering innovation and growth within our communities.
What we've achieved and how you can get involved
Empowering Entrepreneurs with Direct Grants: At the heart of our "Skip for Good" initiative, Skip has awarded hundreds of direct grants to entrepreneurs and small business owners across the US. These grants are designed to support individuals at every stage of their entrepreneurial journey, helping to turn innovative ideas into thriving businesses.
Collaborating with Non-Profits to Increase Funding Accessibility: Understanding the importance of accessible funding, Skip has forged partnerships with non-profit organizations, including specialized lenders. These collaborations aim to enhance funding accessibility for entrepreneurs, furthering our mission to support the growth and success of small businesses.
A Leading Voice for Small Business Owners: Skip continues to advocate for small business owners by being a leading voice in the community. We regularly feature leaders and experts on our platform and YouTube channel, including representatives from the Small Business Administration (SBA). These engagements provide valuable insights, advice, and resources to help entrepreneurs navigate the complexities of business ownership and funding.
Expanding Our Reach Through YouTube: With nearly 20 million views on our YouTube channel, Skip is committed to delivering impactful content to a broad audience. We continue to publish videos on a weekly basis, covering a wide range of topics related to business and funding. These resources are designed to educate, inspire, and empower entrepreneurs with the information they need to succeed.
