Renew Hawaii Car Registration Online
Here are the steps to renewing your Hawaii car registration online if you have a received a renewal notice:
- Go to the online renewal page and select your county
- Type in your license plate number and your last 4 digits of your Vehicle ID Number
- Pay the amount the system shows you
Renew Hawaii Car Registration In Person
Due to the emergency proclamation issued by the Governor and Mayor Kim, all Vehicle Registration offices are closed, but you can renew the car registration through renewal kiosks.

Renew Hawaii Car Registration Via Mail
Here are the steps to renewing your Hawaii car registration via mail if you have a received a renewal notice:
- Get copy of your current vehicle safety inspection certificate is needed if noted on your renewal form
- If your address has changed, you need to document it
- Mail the renewal application form, along with your payment for the amount indicated. Make the check payable to your county
- Once done, you will need to look up the licensing office in your county and send the forms by mail to them
