Overview
The Skip AI Builder Grant (applications open on April 22, 2026) is a competition designed to identify and support builders creating AI-powered tools that help entrepreneurs and small business owners succeed.
We are looking for practical, working solutions — not just ideas — that improve real business outcomes.
Who Should Apply
- Developers, designers, and builders
- Individuals or small teams
- Anyone building AI tools for real-world business use cases
Submission Requirements
Each submission must include:
Working Demo or Walkthrough
- A live prototype, hosted tool, or recorded demo (e.g., Loom)
Problem Statement
- What problem does your tool solve?
Target User
- Who is this for? What type of business?
How It Helps
- What outcome does it improve?
Example Use Case (Strongly Recommended)
- Show a real or realistic example of the tool in action
- Ideally include a before → after comparison
What We’re Looking For
Submissions will be evaluated based on:
- Practical usefulness
- Clarity of problem and solution
- Quality of execution
- Relevance to real business workflows
- Potential to scale across many businesses
We prioritize useful tools over complex ones.
Selection Process
Phase 1: Submission Review
All entries will be reviewed and shortlisted based on quality and relevance.
Phase 2: Shortlist
A group of top submissions will be selected for further evaluation. Shortlisted may be ask to join a call to:
- demonstrate their product
- explain how it works
- answer questions
Phase 4: Winner Selection
One winner will be selected for the $10,000 grant.
Prize
- $10,000 USD awarded to one winner
- Additional recognition or smaller awards may be given
- Opportunities for collaboration or integration may be offered at Skip’s discretion
Additional Opportunities
Top submissions may be considered for:
- Listing in the Skip marketplace
- Access to Skip APIs and distribution to over 1M users
- Integration into Skip’s product ecosystem
- Potential collaboration or future opportunities with Skip
Important Terms
- Submissions must be original work
- By submitting, you agree that Skip may review, analyze, and interally use ideas or concepts presented in your submission
- You acknowledge that Skip may independently develop or pursue similar ideas, products, or features
- Submission does not create any ownership, exclusivity, or confidentiality rights
- Skip is not obligated to implement, compensate, or enter into any relationship beyond the stated prizes
- You grant Skip the right to reference, feature, or showcase your submission for promotional or evaluation purposes
- Skip reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the program at any time
Timeline
- Applications open: Wednesday, April 22, 2026
- Submission deadline: Wednesday, May 6, 2026
- Shortlisted notified: Within 1 week after closing
- Winner announced: Shortly after all shortlisted are reviewed
