Here's the ultimate guide to transferring your vehicle title at the Alaska DMV. We've simplified the entire process to save you time.

What You’ll Need to Transfer your Vehicle Title in Alaska

  • The completed title signed by all sellers and buyers.
  • An odometer verification.
  • A bill of sale.
  • The buyer's driver’s license.
  • Completed Application for Title and Registration.
  • Payment for the title transfer.

What You’ll Need to Do to Transfer your Vehicle Title in Alaska

  1. Visit any DMV office near you. Consider making a DMV appointment or getting a line waiting concierge.
  2. Sign the title and date it.
  3. Print out an Application for Title and Registration, and take that along with the signed and dated title to the DMV office.
  4. Pay the $15 transfer fee. Note that if there is a lien on the vehicle, an additional $15 fee is charged.
  5. Note that for residents in remote areas of the state, Alaska allows this information to be mailed to the same address above, but without the “attention” line.
