PayPal and Global Citizen have teamed up to honor small businesses that are transforming commerce while driving social and environmental change. The Global Citizen and PayPal Small Business Impact Awards will recognize entrepreneurs and small business owners whose innovative products, services, or business models make a measurable positive impact. Winners will receive a $25,000 USD cash prize, plus access to valuable resources — including data insights, expert guidance from commerce and payments specialists, and marketing/brand activations to help scale their mission. Here’s how it works:

• Applicant must be the business's owner, CEO, or founder and actively involved in strategy and/or operations
• Business must have fewer than 50 full-time employees or annual revenue under $1 million, and be registered as a small business in its home country
• Must have at least 3 years of operation with demonstrated, tangible contributions to the local community
• A headshot is required
• 1-2 minute video of why your business deserves this award

Activities may include:

• Supporting local causes, charities, or nonprofits
• Engaging in community development projects or partnerships
• Implementing sustainable practices benefiting the local environment or economy
• Creating jobs or providing training opportunities for local residents
• Must operate and primarily serve the local community

Applications will be judged on Innovation, Impact, Vision, and Grit over the past 3–5 years
